"I started my career at Anchin after graduating from the University of Rhode Island almost five years ago. Growing up with my father in the Navy, my family and I lived all over the Country. Since my parents both hail from New York, coming to the City was always a constant for my siblings and me. I always knew at a young age that I wanted to come to New York and live the exciting city life.
After starting at Anchin, I knew I had found the right firm. The partners and staff alike create a warm and welcoming environment, all the while ensuring a challenging atmosphere where only the best can be expected of you. Not only am I encouraged to grow and learn on a technical level, Anchin makes certain to support my development in becoming a well-rounded and professional individual."

“I started at Anchin right out of college and can’t see myself anywhere else. I came up the ranks to become a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Department and would not change a single thing. This firm is my second family. They have provided me with the flexibility I needed when I had a child, and a work/life balance I would not be able to find anywhere else. The culture is what brought me here and why I have stayed."
Audit, Financial Services
“After a first career as an aviation mechanic, I decided to jump start a new career by getting my accounting degree. I was then hired by Anchin in 2006 after graduating from Queens College. Since joining the Firm, I have truly experienced what it means to be an accountant. Anchin offers training through its own Anchin University, which also made my transition easier.
Not only am I surrounded by colleagues that I refer to as my extended family , but I have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the accounting field. I’m truly honored to say that I am part of a great organization which shows appreciation towards its employees.”
Alexis Alvarez, Audit, Financial Services
"I joined Anchin immediately following my graduation from SUNY-Oneonta. It was absolutely one of the best decisions I could have ever made. The Firm is heavily involved in all of the major industries represented in New York, and I chose to focus on the real estate industry. I believe that I am a great example of the possibilities that are available at Anchin. I made partner at the age of 34 and today, serve as a leader in the Firm's Real Estate Industry Group. I continue to be actively involved in our recruiting process, because I know the opportunities that this firm has to offer. Anchin is a great place to call your professional home."
Rob Gilman, Partner, Real Estate
"I moved to New York from the Philadelphia area looking to grow my career in accounting and experience the opportunities only New York City can offer. While the opportunities I've found at Anchin have been numerous and the exact challenge I was looking for, it is the mentorship and support that has been the real catalyst in helping me achieve my career goals.”
Christopher Kelly, Partner, Audit
"I started at Anchin as an intern while a student at Baruch College. The internship lasted two years and then the Firm made me a full-time offer in 2005. I liked what I saw, so I stayed."
Kamila Gosiewski, Audit
City University of New York, Baruch College
"I started at Anchin right after college – it’s hard to believe it’s been more than six years already. There are lots of things I really like about the Firm, including the training programs and the opportunities for advancement."

Anchin Gives Back
At Anchin, we realize there is more to life than balance sheets and income statements. The partners and staff of Anchin are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. By volunteering within our communities, we not only help those in need, but we help build teamwork and morale within the firm.
We offer our employees a variety of ways to volunteer their time and make a difference in the community.
For example, Anchin has been supporting the P.S. 8 Briggs Academy's 5th grade class for the past 5 years. We have helped support the building of a new library at the school along with providing basketball jerseys for student-teacher competitions, supplying toys at holiday parties and hosting award ceremonies at the school to encourage children to actively participate in academic challenges. The Firm not only helps support the students and teachers by donating money, but the partners also regularly visit the school and host events for the teachers and children—both inside and outside of the classroom. Anchin hosts field trips to their offices, invites the teachers to the company holiday party and even helps chaperone school dances. Both teachers and students communicate with Anchin throughout the school year to relay messages about the difference they have made in the lives of the students. Every year Anchin receives thank you packages, artwork and other student created projects as a heartfelt thank you.
We are also proud to help City Harvest drive hunger out of New York City. As part of their Repack to Give Back program, Anchin volunteers helped pack holiday boxes to be distributed free of charge to soup kitchens and food pantries in time for Thanksgiving.
We welcome suggestions from our employees on how to become more involved with the community. Our goal is to make giving fun!
Beyond the Work
Accounting can be a taxing profession, but we also know that a life that is all work and no play is not much of a life at all and that’s not what we want for you. At Anchin, we work every day to create a culture that will allow you to flourish as a professional and as an individual. We work every day to create a climate that will provide you with a challenging professional career and a rewarding personal life.
So here’s what we can promise you about life at Anchin. No two days will ever be alike. Schedules are unpredictable and can change frequently, depending upon the client’s needs and upon your personal needs. Deadlines and client demands will drive long hours at certain times of the year. But our goal is to balance peak work periods with fun, and we do that in a number of ways:
- Holiday Party
- Texas Hold 'em Tournaments
- Volleyball Tournament
- Summer Fishing Trip
- Sundaes on Wednesdays during the summer
- Firm-sponsored softball, soccer teams
- Community service activities
- Busy Season Bingo
- Game Show Night
- Thanksgiving Pie Fest
- In-office Relaxation Room
Anchin understands that it is also important to be a good corporate citizen. We are committed to helping those in need in the communities in which we live and work. Through events planned by our CARE Committee, team members can choose from a number of volunteer events throughout the year, and we welcome suggestions through Anchin’s Suggestion Box, located on our intranet, from our staff on how to become more involved within our communities. Our goal with these activities is to make giving fun.
These activities, combined with Anchin’s generous benefits packages, help us create an exciting, flexible environment in which you can work and enjoy your life in New York City.
