Large Equifax Cybersecurity Breach Could Affect 143 Million People – Are You One Of Them?
Last week, Equifax announced a large cybersecurity breach that compromised personal information of up to 143 million Americans. The breach, which occurred between mid-May and July was discovered in late July. The company has announced that they will be communicating with some of the affected individuals, but proactive protection may make sense depending on your individual situation. We urge you to consider taking steps to mitigate the risk, including considering a credit freeze, which provides you an additional level of security to protect your personal data.
Recently, Anchin launched an affiliate, Redpoint Cybersecurity, to help clients and contacts protect one of their most important assets—their data. Redpoint works with companies and individuals to help them secure their infrastructure and their data. On the corporate side, Redpoint provides security training, email phishing campaigns, onsite security assessments, and a variety of other services to clients.
The Equifax breach shows that all companies and all forms of data are at risk and require active risk management.
